For spoon fishing, it is recommended to use a monofilament line with good strength and abrasion resistance. A monofilament line with a test strength of 10-20 pounds is typically suitable for spoon fishing, as it provides the necessary strength to handle the weight of the spoon and potential resistance from the fish. Additionally, a clear or low-visibility monofilament line is often preferred for spoon fishing to reduce the chances of spooking fish in clear water conditions. **

For spinning fishing, a good monofilament line option is the Berkley Trilene XL Monofilament Fishing Line. This line is known for its strength, durability, and low memory, making it ideal for spinning reels. It also has good knot strength and abrasion resistance, which are important qualities for spinning fishing. **

Monofilament line is typically more buoyant than braided line, which can affect the way the line behaves when float fishing. Monofilament line has more stretch compared to braided line, which can help absorb the shock of a fish striking the bait. On the other hand, braided line is thinner in diameter and has less stretch, providing better sensitivity and hook-setting power. Overall, the choice between monofilament and braided line for float fishing depends on personal preference and the specific fishing conditions. **
